Hi, i’m Mrs. Wang. This is my fourth year as a teacher for YCS. I am teaching ELA and Social Studies for Grades 10-12 in the Distance Education Program. It is exciting to be a part of a growing Distance Education Program this year!

Over the summer, my husband and I enjoyed travelling and camping. I enjoy reading, drinking tea, playing board games and going hiking. This year I was able to grow three cabbages that I used to make cabbage borscht. I take joy in cooking cultural food, whether it be from my husband’s family background or my own.

Favorite thing he learned this summer: how to fix a kitchen faucet

Best thing he said in the past year: I'm going to own you at ping pong!  My genetics won't fail me.  (and then he promptly lost REALLY badly)

Favorite style of humor: something so cringe that you'll think that you left Canada and went to Ohio.

Favorite science quote: "Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton asked why"

Hi, I’m Welnie Lunar, the Math teacher at YCS! I’ve lived in Canada for two years or so, and have been enjoying trying new sports. I’m fascinated to learn pickleball, water adventures, and look forward to trying winter sports soon!

It’s been a blessing to be part of this community, and I feel that God has led me here for a purpose. My prayer is to be a blessing to all of the children!

Hello, my name is Willeke Amundrud (It’s a mouthful, so you can call me Mrs. A).  I LOVE Jesus and have always marveled at how He’s created us and the world. Growing up on a dairy farm, I went to a Christian School in Neerlandia.  I studied Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Alberta. I took a 6-year break to raise our children after teaching math in Chauvin for 6 years. I am so excited to join Yellowhead Christian School and share the hope that I’ve found in my Savior and the love of studying His amazing creation.

Greetings! I'm Mr. Black, and I am thrilled to return for my 6th year at YCS.

I am continuing my role as Assistant Principal, while also serving as Athletic Director, Teacher, and the many other things that I do at the school. I look forward to further developing my leadership abilities and contributing to the school community in other capacities.

I enjoy coaching and playing basketball, exploring the outdoors, kayaking, taking photos, and spending time with my family in my spare time.
