Starting in the 2025-26 School Year, YCS has been working on developing a Dual Credit program with several Alberta-based Post-Secondary Institutions.

 

Dual Credit courses are available for high school students (Grade 10+). These courses allow students to earn credits towards their Alberta High School Diploma AND post-secondary credits (college/university), many of which are transferable between various institutions. These courses are offered to students for no additional cost, so they offer a great way to get a head start on their post-secondary education while saving money on future tuition costs. Another benefit of Dual Credit courses is that they allow students to engage with post-secondary-level content, instruction, and assignments, providing a structured way to explore post-secondary education before committing to a full program. 

 

Currently, we have agreements with the following post-secondary institutions:

  • Northern Lakes College
  • Prairie College
  • Lakeland College
  • Olds College of Agriculture and Technology
