Home Education & Shared Responsibility
The following details specifically apply to the Home Education and Shared Responsibility branches of YCS@Home.
Important Dates:
- September 29, 2025: Application deadline (Government Notification and Home Education Plan Due)
- October 1, 2025 — May 29, 2026: Submit receipts to the office for reimbursement
- October-November 2025: Fall Homeschool Evaluations (book an appointment with your facilitator)
- March-April 2026: Spring Homeschool Evaluations (book an appointment with your facilitator
- February 2026: Enrollment opens for 2026–2027
Funding:
Each family can receive up to $901 per student towards purchasing materials, technology, or activities. Please use the Home Education Expense Report to report these expenses and receive reimbursement.
What to expect during your Home Education Evaluations:
Students and parents in parent-led homeschool or shared responsibility programs are required to meet with their facilitator twice per school year.
- You can choose an in-person or an online meeting.
- During the evaluation, your facilitator will work with you to build a progress report for each of your children.
- This is a great way to set goals and track academic and personal progress.
- You'll also receive supportive recommendations from your facilitator as they address any questions or concerns you have about educating your children at home.
